TRS Bay Leaves (Tejpatta) are fragrant leaves of the bay laurel tree, used as a herb in various cuisines. Bay leaves have a sharp and distinctive aroma that enhances the flavour of dishes such as biryanis, kormas, soups, stews and casseroles. They are also used in fish dishes and sauces. Bay leaves are usually added whole to the recipes and removed before serving, as they are not edible. Bay leaves have various health benefits, such as aiding digestion, reducing inflammation and improving blood sugar levels.

In another pot, boil basmati rice with water, salt, cardamom pods, cloves and bay leaves until almost done. Drain the rice and layer it over the chicken or vegetable mixture in the first pot.
